Traditional Chinese cupping targets eight key acupoints. Regular cupping at these points holds significant value for health preservation and disease prevention.
Principle:
Historically, cupping utilized fire to create negative pressure, hence the term "fire cupping." As a heritage therapy of Chinese medicine, it was also referred to as "horn therapy" in ancient texts. This practice has long been used in Chinese folk medicine.
Modern cupping devices employ mechanical suction to create negative pressure within the cup, adhering it to targeted areas. This induces hyperemia in subcutaneous tissues and superficial muscles, stimulating the skin, tendons, and meridian points. The therapy aims to eliminate toxins, unblock meridians, promote qi and blood circulation, strengthen the body's defenses, enhance metabolism, regulate organ functions, and ultimately purify the blood—all through a non-pharmaceutical, natural, physical, and ecological approach.
