When caring for our skin, we must never neglect the skin on our neck. The appearance of neck wrinkles signals the onset of skin aging. So how should we properly care for our neck?
Extend your daily skincare routine to include the neck
1. Daily bathing is ideal. After cleansing the neck, apply toner and moisturizer to the neck area as well, gently patting or massaging it in.
2. If daily bathing isn't feasible, incorporate neck care into your nightly cleansing and moisturizing routine.
3. Invest in a dedicated neck cream. Formulated specifically for the neck area, these creams typically offer hydration, firming, and lifting benefits—making them more suitable than facial creams.
4. Neck skin lacks elasticity and requires daily attention. After cleansing, apply neck cream while the skin's surface moisture remains, gently patting or massaging to aid rapid absorption.
5. Perform a "neck mask" once or twice weekly to effectively delay neck skin aging.
Neck Massage Routine
This massage routine should be performed while applying neck cream or massage balm.
step1: Take a dime-sized amount of neck cream or massage balm and gently spread it upward with both hands.
step2: Tilt your head slightly back. Use your fingers to push upward from the collarbone, repeating 10 times on each side.
step3: Using thumb and index finger, gently lift upward along key neck wrinkle areas (avoid excessive pressure), repeating about 15 times.
Step 4: Finally, place the index and middle fingers of both hands on the lymph nodes below the jawline. Press for about one minute to stimulate lymphatic drainage and promote detoxification.
In addition to neck massage exercises, applying a neck mask is also crucial.
Applying a neck mask every three days is essential for neck care. Specialized neck masks are rare; if unavailable, substitute with facial masks or sheet masks, or choose currently available neck-covering masks.
Note: Neck skin is delicate and loose. Avoid peel-off neck masks, as they may stretch the skin further.
Neck cleansing is vital.
As estheticians explain, the cleansing routine for the neck is similar to that for the face. The key is to use a gentle cleanser, preferably a gel or lotion-based formula.
Use gentle, upward circular motions to cleanse. Afterward, pat the face and neck with a dry towel until about 80% dry, then apply an alcohol-free, moisturizing toner.
We recommend a weekly professional massage for the neck. Massage not only relieves fatigue but also boosts blood circulation, promotes skin metabolism, firms the skin, enhances the neckline, and reduces the appearance of neck wrinkles.
