Contraceptive methods today are diverse and varied, but condoms remain the most widely used. Many couples are already familiar with them! But do you use condoms correctly? Check against these points to see if you're making any common mistakes—and if so, correct them immediately!
1. Always check the production date and expiration date before use. Expired condoms have deteriorated, are prone to breaking, and should not be used.
2. Store condoms in a cool, dry place away from acids, alkalis, and oils. If they become sticky or brittle after exposure to these conditions, discard them immediately—even if within the expiration date.
4. Do not pre-unroll the condom. Instead, unroll it smoothly from the glans downward over the erect penis.
5. Before placing the condom over the glans, pinch and collapse the reservoir tip to expel air. This prevents the air from expanding during heat, which could cause semen to leak toward the base of the penis during ejaculation.
7. If a condom tears or slips off during use, replacing it alone is insufficient. Immediately stop intercourse and cleanse the genital area with a disinfectant.
8. After ejaculation, withdraw the penis while the condom is still in place, holding the base firmly with your fingers until the penis becomes flaccid.
10. Fingers used to remove the condom will inevitably come into contact with both semen and vaginal secretions. Therefore, wash hands immediately with soap and water under running water.
