Shoulder dystocia, also known as shoulder delivery difficulty, occurs when the fetal head has been delivered but the anterior shoulder becomes stuck above the pubic symphysis, preventing further delivery with conventional obstetric techniques.
Factors that may contribute to shoulder dystocia
Macrosomia—a birth weight exceeding 4000 grams. Such fetuses often accumulate thick layers of fat on the shoulders, leading to shoulder delivery difficulty.

Impact of Shoulder Dystocia
