Children with prolonged anemia often exhibit poor physical development, short stature, lack of playfulness, and easy fatigue. The simplest approach is to increase intake of iron-rich foods to boost hemoglobin levels.Key sources include lean meat, pork liver, egg yolks, kelp, chicken liver, laver, shiitake mushrooms, and soy products.
Egg yolks:
Containing 7mg iron per 100g, egg yolks offer convenient preparation and storage despite only 3% iron absorption. Rich in other nutrients, they serve as an excellent supplementary iron source for infants.
Animal Blood:
Animal blood such as pork blood, chicken blood, and duck blood has an iron utilization rate of 12%. Blood tofu, available commercially, is an excellent food for preventing iron-deficiency anemia in children.Each 100 grams of pork liver contains 25 milligrams of iron, which is readily absorbed by the body.
Sesame paste:
Sesame paste is rich in various nutrients and makes an excellent nutritional food for infants and young children. Each 100 grams of sesame paste contains 58 milligrams of iron, along with abundant calcium, phosphorus, protein, and fat. It can be added to your baby's meals.
Here are a few anemia-fighting recipes we recommend:Cold-Served Black Fungus Salad Soak black fungus until softened, then rinse thoroughly. Blanch in boiling water for 1-2 minutes, drain, and toss with sesame oil, light soy sauce, vinegar, and a pinch of sugar to taste. Stir-Fried Pork Liver Slice pork liver into 1cm-thick pieces. Place in a bowl with a splash of cooking wine, dark soy sauce, and light soy sauce. Mix well.finally add a spoonful of cornstarch and mix well. Marinate for ten minutes.
