Nutritional Value of Locust Flowers:
Used in preparations like locust flower and schizonepeta tea, chrysanthemum and locust flower tea, rhubarb and locust flower honey drink, purslane and locust flower porridge, sanguisorba and locust flower honey drink, two-region locust flower porridge, and steamed fish with locust flowers.In rural areas, locust flowers are used medicinally for detoxification. They can be prepared as locust flower rice or even made into locust flower buns.
Locust flowers are bitter in taste, neutral in nature, and non-toxic. They possess properties that clear heat, cool the blood, stop bleeding, and lower blood pressure.They demonstrate significant efficacy for hemoptysis, hematuria, hemorrhoidal bleeding, wind-heat red eyes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, cervical lymph node tuberculosis, vascular sclerosis, bloody stools, diabetes, retinitis, psoriasis, and more. They also expel parasites and treat pharyngitis.Sophora flowers enhance capillary resistance, reduce vascular permeability, and restore elasticity to fragile blood vessels, thereby lowering blood lipids and preventing vascular sclerosis.

Medicinal Value of Sophora Flower:
1. Psoriasis Treatment: Roast Sophora flowers until golden, grind into fine powder. Take 3 grams twice daily after meals with warm water. Alternatively, prepare into honey pills for oral use at the same dosage.Clinical observation of 53 cases: 6 cases cured, 22 cases showed significant improvement, 19 cases showed improvement, 6 cases showed no effect. This medicine has certain side effects for people with gastrointestinal diseases. Adding vitamins B1 and B6 during medication can alleviate these effects. Some patients may experience diarrhea at the beginning, which will disappear on its own after a few days. Therefore, it is advisable to start with a small dose and increase to the full dose after 2-3 days.
2. Treatment for cervical lymph node tuberculosis: Take 2 parts locust flower seeds and 1 part glutinous rice, stir-fry until golden, then grind into powder. Take 2 spoonfuls (approximately 10g) daily on an empty stomach in the morning. Avoid sugar intake during treatment. Over 30 clinical cases were treated, all achieving cure.
3. Treatment for heatstroke: Decoct 1-2 liang (approx. 50-100g) of dried Sophora japonica flowers in 1500ml water. Use cotton soaked in the decoction to wash the affected area. The decoction may be reheated for reuse, washing 2-3 times daily. Simultaneously, apply the decocted residue, pounded into a paste, as a poultice to the affected area. Swelling typically subsides and healing occurs within 1-2 days of treatment.
4. Allergy precautions:One pediatric case was reported where an allergic reaction occurred after holding Sophora flowers in the mouth. Symptoms included fever, erythema on the face, neck, and limbs, dense papules of varying sizes that did not blanch on pressure, itching, stinging pain, and raised white vesicles (approximately 0.5 cm in diameter) with patchy erosion and slight exudation on the cheeks and anterior neck. Patch testing was positive.Initial treatment with diphenhydramine proved ineffective; recovery gradually occurred after switching to hydrocortisone.
