Sperm Abnormality Syndrome can cause infertility. How should we treat it? Effective management requires not only medical intervention but also patient cooperation.
First, patients should identify personal factors contributing to sperm abnormalities, such as smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, picky eating habits, wearing tight underwear, or prolonged sitting. Therefore, patients are advised to quit smoking and drinking; diversify their diet to supplement essential trace elements and ensure balanced nutrition;Wear loose-fitting underwear, avoid prolonged sitting, increase exercise to improve overall blood circulation; refrain from saunas and hot baths at high temperatures; avoid unprotected sexual activity to prevent urogenital infections; avoid self-medication and take drugs only under medical guidance; avoid exposure to toxic gases and foods.
Guo Jun, Director of Andrology at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, believes that elevated sperm abnormalities typically result from the interplay of kidney deficiency, blood stasis, and damp-heat. Therefore, clinical treatment follows the principle of "tonifying the kidneys, promoting blood circulation, clearing heat, and draining dampness," yielding significant results. For patients with severe varicocele, it is recommended to first undergo three months of treatment with Chinese herbal medicine to promote blood circulation and resolve stasis. If results are unsatisfactory, surgical intervention may be considered. Patients with orchitis or epididymitis may be treated with antibiotics and Chinese herbal medicine to clear heat and detoxify.
