For very young babies, treating musical enlightenment as a formal course will only yield half the results with twice the effort. Allowing babies to grow happily immersed in music is the correct approach to nurturing their intellectual development.Music 1: From birth, gradually guide babies to listen to surrounding sounds and music. Expose them to pleasant wind chime melodies, natural sounds like wind and rain, and various vehicle noises. Help babies recognize the voices of loved ones and discern different emotions conveyed through speech.
Music 2: Play rhythmic sounds for your baby using rattles or tambourines, then let them hold and shake these instruments themselves. Have your baby sit on your lap while you recite rhythmic nursery rhymes and gently bounce them up and down. Play "tug-of-war" games with your baby, singing or reciting rhythmic rhymes as you go.
Music 3: Parents can select musical pieces and songs conveying various emotions to enjoy with their baby. This helps the baby gradually perceive the nature of music—such as lively, cheerful, lyrical, or gentle—and respond with corresponding emotions like happiness or anger. Encourage the baby to express these feelings through facial expressions and simple movements.
Music Activity 4: Incorporate simple rhythmic movements into daily routines. Pair everyday actions like dressing or washing faces with gentle, melodic music to emphasize rhythm. Encourage children to mimic beloved animals' movements to the beat—e.g., hopping like bunnies, waddling like penguins, or swaying trunks like elephants. Active parental participation is essential to sustain children's enthusiasm.
Music Five: Children aged 3 to 4 typically have strong receptivity, as they are curious about everything. Playing nursery rhymes and various music daily can stimulate their musical sense and mimicry skills. Parents should encourage babies to create different musical sounds during this period, ensuring no noise disturbs neighbors.
Music Six: Beyond nurturing musical interest at home, we can cultivate it outdoors. Music surrounds us everywhere. Take your child for walks in the woods to listen to birdsong, insect chirps, the whoosh of wind, and the patter of rain. Let them experience the diverse beauty of sounds, broaden their horizons, and ignite their musical imagination.
