Many patients with macromastia aspire to achieve a healthy physique and desirable breast appearance. Experts note that breast reduction surgery can effectively fulfill these goals. However, what is the cost of breast reduction? Breast specialists indicate that expenses vary significantly based on the chosen surgical technique. Below are the primary methods for breast reduction surgery.
1. Double-ring incision breast reduction. This technique yields excellent results for moderate to severe breast hypertrophy.
2. Vertical double pedicle reduction (Mckissock method). This approach features simple design and execution, allows greater nipple mobility for repositioning, and produces aesthetically pleasing breast contours.Suitable for moderate to severe macromastia or ptosis, but not recommended for extremely large breasts or cases with nipple displacement exceeding 15cm.
3. Horizontal Double Pedicle Reduction, also known as the Strombeck technique. Primarily indicated for moderately enlarged breasts. Its advantage lies in eliminating the need for dissection beneath the skin. The remaining mammary tissue forms a double-pedicle mammary tissue flap supplied by the internal thoracic artery and the lateral thoracic artery. The nipple is positioned at the midpoint of the pedicle, ensuring its attachment and blood supply remain undisturbed. Although the glandular tissue is removed from the epidermis in this reduction procedure, the dermis remains overlying the mammary pedicle, preserving good nipple sensation.
4. Reverse double-V excision mammoplasty for breast reduction.
5. Breast reduction surgery is suitable for individuals experiencing back, neck, or shoulder pain due to excessive breast weight.
6. Breast reduction surgery is appropriate for those dissatisfied with oversized breasts and experiencing diminished self-confidence.
