Gigantomastia often manifests during adolescence. The immense weight of the breasts frequently causes a sensation of chest tightness and difficulty breathing. Patients often suffer from chronic mastitis, and the excessive weight places significant strain on the shoulders and neck, leading to persistent shoulder pain, dizziness, and headaches. This condition directly impacts the development of other bodily organs.
During adolescence, when emotional maturity is still developing, macromastia can cause significant distress and psychological burden. Many girls may withdraw socially, become timid, and develop reclusive tendencies. Physical discomfort may lead to avoidance of physical activities, fostering feelings of inferiority and, in severe cases, depression.
With current medical advancements, understanding the causes of macromastia could enable preventive measures. However, since the exact reasons for its occurrence remain unknown, prevention is currently impossible. Therefore, early detection and prompt treatment at specialized hospitals are crucial, especially for adolescent patients. Delayed intervention not only harms the body but also inflicts irreversible damage to psychological development.
