Every woman who values beauty desires firm breasts. A well-proportioned bust enhances a woman's charm and appeal. Conversely, excessively large breasts may indicate macromastia, which can detract from aesthetic appeal. So, what are the risks associated with macromastia? How can it be corrected?
Risks of Macromastia
Excessive breast development leads to disproportionately large breasts, a condition known as macromastia. This enlargement causes both physical discomfort and psychological distress for women. What methods can correct macromastia? Severe breast hypertrophy and ptosis may cause the lower breast margin to extend beyond the umbilicus or even reach the pubic level. This results in a bulky figure, restricted mobility, shoulder and back pain, and pressure and discomfort when lying flat.
Methods for Breast Reduction
I. Liposuction
Breasts consist of fat and mammary glands. Adolescent breasts contain a higher proportion of subcutaneous fat, making liposuction a viable option for reduction. What methods can correct large breasts? This technique involves very small incisions, leaving almost no scars. The drawback is limited effectiveness, reducing cup size by at most one level (120 to 150 cc), and it is not suitable for everyone.
II. Standard Breast Reduction Surgery
Through specialized techniques, excess skin and mammary tissue are excised while repositioning the nipple. This can reduce volume by up to 1500cc. Post-surgery, a noticeable inverted-T scar may remain along the lower breast crease. Nipple numbness may occur, potentially affecting future breastfeeding.
III. Circumferential Breast Reduction
Incisions are made around the areola to remove and suspend excess skin and breast tissue, reducing volume by up to 500cc. The incision line lies at the junction of the areola and skin. Initially, the sutured area may appear wrinkled like a gathered fabric opening, but it will smooth and fade within three to six months, leaving a barely noticeable scar.
Every woman who values beauty desires firm breasts. A flattering bustline enhances a woman's charm and appeal. However, excessive breast development leading to disproportionate size causes both physical discomfort and psychological distress, necessitating correction.
