1. Reduce consumption of processed carbohydrates

2. Reduce Dairy Intake
The link between dairy consumption and acne requires further research. A 2018 journal study indicated that sugar-laden skim milk increases acne risk more than whole milk.Proteins and hormones in insulin-like growth factor trigger oil production and inflammation. Surprisingly, yogurt and cheese do not exhibit this effect. If you regularly drink milk, consider replacing it with alternatives like almond milk.
3. Stress Reduction

4. Consider Tea Tree Oil
Chemically similar to benzoyl peroxide but gentler, tea tree oil treats moderate acne. Its antibacterial properties reduce acne-causing bacteria and suppress skin cell inflammation. If full-face application feels too harsh, spot-treat stubborn pimples instead.
5. Reduce Salt Intake
Some doctors suspect sodium's role in acne, with salt and iodine-rich foods like certain fish and shellfish potentially triggering breakouts. Studies show acne sufferers consume significantly more salty foods than those without acne. Opt for lower-salt options and limit daily intake to under 5 grams—the World Health Organization's recommended limit.
6. Try switching lotions and moisturizers
Relying on a single skincare product can significantly impact your skin. Moisturization is essential for treating dry skin, but different moisturizers yield varying results.Dr. Ariel, Clinical Professor of Dermatology at NYU School of Medicine, states: "Even acne-prone teenagers need moisturization to maintain skin health. Products and medications that dry out the skin can cause damage." Consider using additive-free moisturizers to prevent clogged pores or worsening breakouts.
