Knitting Instructions:
1.Cast on 143 stitches. Work in stockinette stitch for 10 rows (approx. 2cm).
2. Leave 5 stitches on each side (approx. 2cm) for the border, then continue in stockinette stitch.

4.When knitting reaches 16 cm, shape the underarm by binding off 4 stitches evenly. On the 6 rows before shaping, knit the 4 underarm stitches in stockinette stitch.
5. Change the front panels to one pattern repeat per side, and the back panel to three pattern repeats.
6. At 20 cm, begin shaping the neckline: decrease 2-11-12, 4-1-3.
7. While knitting the stand-up collar, evenly space buttonholes throughout.
8. Finally, embroider blue thread along both sides of the lower white pattern using flat embroidery.
Blue Cardigan
1. Cast on 83 stitches (leave 8 stitches at each end; knit all rows purlwise. This forms the cast-on edge).
2.Begin by knitting 6 rows back and forth in stockinette stitch for the collar.
3. On the 7th row, knit the 8 edge stitches first (remember to leave buttonholes within these 8 stitches; gauge the length by measuring against the child's clothing). Begin the body section. Knit all stitches as follows: knit 1, increase 1, knit 1, increase 1, knit 5. (For increases: pull the front loop up from below and the back loop down from above.)Repeat this sequence 12 times, then knit 8 stitches.
4. On the wrong side, knit all stitches in reverse (for smaller holes, knit the short end of the increased stitch; for larger holes, knit the long end). Remember to maintain the 8-stitch border on both sides, knitting all stitches on both sides.
5. Increase once every 6 rows (increase on the right side), repeating this 6 times.
6.Begin shaping: Front 36 sts (including 8 edge sts), Sleeve 48 sts. Back 58 sts, Sleeve 48 sts, Front 36 sts.
7. Increase 10 sts underarm. Work back 8 additional rows. Join front and back, knit together to desired length.
8. Complete sleeves.
