We're all familiar with taro, but how do you make it delicious? What are some taro recipes? Today we'll teach you how to make this candied taro.
Main ingredients: 500g taro, 10g sesame seeds, 200g white sugar, 750g vegetable oil (actual consumption: 100g).
Method:
1.First, wash and peel the taro. Cut into irregular chunks or diamond shapes and set aside in a dish for frying.
2. Sort the sesame seeds to remove impurities and set aside.
3. Place a wok over high heat. Once hot, add 750g cooking oil. When the oil reaches medium-high heat (about 180°C), add the taro chunks. Fry in two batches until cooked through and golden brown. Drain excess oil.
4. Pour out most of the oil from the wok, leaving about 15g. Add the 200g granulated sugar and stir constantly over medium heat until the sugar melts and caramelizes evenly. Avoid high heat.
4. Drain most of the oil from the wok, leaving 15g. Add 200g white sugar and stir constantly over medium heat until melted. When the sugar syrup forms tiny needle-point bubbles, quickly add the fried taro pieces. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, toss to coat evenly, then transfer to a serving plate immediately.
That concludes our guide to making Candied Taro. We hope you now have a solid understanding of the process. Wishing you good health and happiness!
