Uncovering the Happiness Behind Marriage

Today, singledom has become a trend. My classmates and colleagues alike have joined the ranks of the unattached—perhaps in pursuit of perfection, perhaps focused on building their careers, perhaps prioritizing their children's future quality of life. Yet unbeknownst to them, they too yearn for the happiness that lies beyond marriage.
While marriage is often called a cage, scientific analysis reveals both its pros and cons. For most, marriage ultimately binds them to happiness. For us post-90s generation, marriage is already circling around us. In the coming years, we should start planning our own happiness. The other day, my dad said, "Sweetheart, you're already 25. How about getting married in a couple of years?" After hearing that, I fell silent...
I long for the simple happiness my parents shared. My parents married at twenty. Dad started working away from home at nineteen. Whether day or night shifts, he always came home after work because he knew Mom had dinner ready and was waiting. Mom worked the fields. Besides caring for us, she tended the rice paddies. Every day after school, I'd see her weary figure across the river as I walked home.Weekends were the happiest times. Dad, Mom, and I would sit beside the rice paddies eating popsicles, then compete in weeding. Our laughter filled the air above the fields. Back then, we knew nothing of the city's clamor or what extramarital affairs meant. All we felt was the breath of nature and the simple, unadorned life of our family—Dad, Mom, and me.
Society has rapidly evolved. Now we've moved to the city and live in high-rises, but this comes with urban clamor and neon-lit nightlife. As living standards rise, so do people's desires. Whether in the countryside or city, marital breakdowns occur frequently—perhaps this is what unmarried people fear.Of course, if we never dare to take that step, we'll never truly understand what marriage means or experience that enviable happiness.
If you're single, if you're a man, if you yearn for the happiness that lies beyond marriage—then take action now. Set out toward happiness, embrace responsibility, and seek your own ordinary yet fulfilling marriage!
