Laser eye bag removal utilizes the thermal and photothermal effects of laser energy applied to the conjunctiva inside the tarsal plate. After creating an incision, fat deposits are removed, and laser vaporization is used to contract the dermal tissue, thereby eliminating eye bags. Based on the surgical approach, laser eye bag removal can be categorized into two methods: the transconjunctival approach and the transcutaneous approach. Each method is suitable for different patient groups.
The high-energy laser method involves making a 0.3cm incision in the inner conjunctiva of the tarsal plate. Through this incision, the inner, middle, and outer fat pads are sequentially removed. Laser vaporization then contracts the dermal tissue. The entire procedure takes only 30 minutes, with no bleeding during surgery, rapid post-operative recovery, and minimal discomfort.
Suitable Candidates:
1. Young individuals with isolated orbital fat prolapse without skin laxity.
2. Patients with mild skin laxity but good skin elasticity who subjectively desire no scarring or have upcoming significant social events, and thus prefer avoiding the transcutaneous approach. This method may be considered after thorough preoperative consultation.
Contraindications:
1. Patients with systemic organ diseases, bleeding disorders, or abnormal mental states are ineligible for this procedure.
2. Individuals with ocular diseases, particularly infectious ocular conditions.
3. Facial paralysis with incomplete eyelid closure.
4. Individuals with keloid-prone or allergic constitutions;
5. Pregnant women or those during menstruation;
