Standard clinical dose: 10–30g.
High dose: 30–60g.

Chickenbone grass is non-toxic. No adverse reactions occur when decocted and taken orally at conventional doses. Long-term use or high doses (around 30g) decocted and taken orally also show no significant side effects.
【Dietary Therapy Effects】
Chicken Bone Grass tastes sweet with slight bitterness, has a cool nature, and enters the Liver, Gallbladder, and Stomach meridians.
It possesses effects of clearing heat, draining dampness, dispersing stasis, and relieving pain.
Main indications: jaundice-type hepatitis, painful urination, epigastric pain, rheumatic joint pain, traumatic bruising with swelling and pain, mastitis.【Chicken Bone Grass Preparation Guidelines】
1. The seeds are toxic; remove pods before use to prevent poisoning.
2. For jaundice: Decoct 60g chicken bone grass with 7-8 red dates. Drink the decoction.
3. For wind-heat exogenous pathogens: Decoct 60g chicken bone grass. Take twice daily.

4. For scrofula: Grind 3000g chickenbone grass and 2000g Xiecao into powder. Form into honey pills (3g each). Take 2 pills three times daily for 2-4 weeks.
5. For snake bites: Decoct 30g chickenbone grass (without pods) in water and drink.
