Office workers often sit at computers for extended periods, lacking effective exercise, which leads to abdominal fat accumulation. Chronic poor detoxification directly affects skin tone. So how can office workers slim their abdomen? Gua Sha is an excellent method. Let's explore abdominal Gua Sha:
1. Abdominal Acupoints
(1) Tianshu Point: Two finger-widths to either side of the navel;
(2) Guanyuan Point: Four finger-widths below the navel;
(3) Qihai Point: One finger-width below the navel.
2. Abdominal Gua Sha Technique
Lie supine during treatment. Center the gua sha tool on the navel and perform circular strokes clockwise with even pressure—avoid excessive force. Continue until the abdominal skin appears rosy.Then use the corner-rubbing technique to massage the previously mentioned Tianshu, Guanyuan, and Qihai points. The corner-rubbing technique involves applying pressure with the thick edge or corner of the scraping tool to the effective acupoints. Perform continuous circular motions to knead the underlying tissues with moderate force.
3. Abdominal Slimming Effects
Perform daily for visible results. Typically, constipation improves within three days to one week of consistent scraping. After half a month to one month, you'll noticeably feel lighter and observe reduced abdominal fat.
Contraindications for Gua Sha Therapy:
1. This therapy is prohibited for critical conditions such as acute infectious diseases, severe heart disease, hypertension, or stroke.
3. Avoid treatment immediately after a heavy meal, when extremely hungry, or if fearful of the scraping sensation.
4. For conditions with bleeding tendencies (e.g., thrombocytopenia, leukemia, allergic purpura), use tonifying or neutral scraping techniques instead of dispersing scraping. Those with severe bleeding tendencies should temporarily avoid this therapy.
5. Avoid scraping on newly fractured areas; wait until the fracture has healed before applying tonifying scraping to the affected site. Scraping on surgical scars should only be performed after two months. Exercise caution when scraping areas with surgical scars on patients who have undergone surgery for malignant tumors.
6. Avoid scraping over unexplained masses or malignant tumor sites; instead, perform tonifying scraping around the tumor periphery.
7. After each scraping session, wait until the petechiae have faded before scraping the same area again.
