Full Steps for Creating Subtle Smoky Eyes
Step 1: Apply Gold Eye Cream as Base
The first step in creating subtle smoky eyes is to use your fingertip to apply a pearlescent gold eye cream over your eyelids. Spread it generously across the upper eyelid area—this is the foundation for your look! Make sure to apply the base thoroughly!
The key to a subtle smoky eye lies in using a pearlescent cream eyeshadow first. This helps the powder eyeshadow adhere better and prevents smudging later on!
Step 2: Gray Eyeshadow on Upper and Lower Lids
Begin by using black eyeshadow to define the outer corner of the eye. Next, pick up a moderate amount of gray eyeshadow with an eyeshadow brush and gently sweep it from the inner corner (1/5 of the way in) toward the outer corner. Then, starting from the inner corner of the lower lid (1/5 of the way in), carefully trace along the lash line. Looking in the mirror, you can create a beautiful eye makeup look!
The key here is to apply only within the natural crease. Focus on deepening the outer corners of both upper and lower lids—make sure to elongate the outer edges and blend seamlessly!
Step 3: Black Inner Liner
Using a black eyeliner pencil, carefully fill in the gaps along the lash line, drawing each stroke individually.
Step 4: Silver Shimmer Highlight at the Inner Corner
Using an eyeshadow brush, pick up silver shimmer eyeshadow and apply it starting from the inner corner of the eye.
When highlighting the inner corner, remember not to brush over the gray eyeshadow area. This will ruin the overall effect, creating a messy look that's not ideal!
Step 5: Volumizing Mascara
Apply volumizing mascara starting from the roots, using a zigzag motion to coat each lash individually. This creates thick, beautifully curled lashes!
Step 6: Highlight the T-zone and under-eye area
Dip a brush into a highlighting product and gently sweep it across your face. Focus on the T-zone and the large C-shaped area under your eyes to draw all the light toward the center of your eyes!
Step 7: Nude Lipstick
Dip a nude lip brush into nude lipstick and apply evenly across lips. You can also dab it on and press your lips together for a natural finish.
