We commonly refer to laser-based skin treatments as laser cosmetology. But do you know how different laser colors vary in treating skin concerns? For instance, blue and violet light typically address acne, green light controls oil and shrinks pores, while yellow light is effective for spot removal. Understanding each color's function allows for more targeted skin solutions.
Different colors serve different purposes:
Red Light: Also known as bioactive light, 635nm red light boasts high purity, broad intensity, and uniform energy density, delivering remarkable results in skin care and therapeutic treatments.Red light enhances cellular activity, promotes metabolism, and stimulates the skin to produce collagen and fibrous tissue for self-repair. Suitable for all skin types, it boosts blood circulation, regenerates collagen, and smooths the skin. It improves dryness and scarring, and is effective for treating hair loss, follicular atrophy, and patchy baldness.
Blue Light: Treats acne. The 415nm wavelength rapidly suppresses inflammation. Propionibacterium acnes primarily drives acne formation, and blue light efficiently destroys this bacteria without damaging skin tissue. This maximally reduces acne development and significantly diminishes inflammatory acne lesions within a short timeframe, promoting healing.Suitable for sensitive, oily, and acne-prone skin, it reduces Propionibacterium acnes to eliminate blackheads and pimples. It promotes protein and collagen synthesis, revitalizes skin, tightens sagging skin, and reduces stretch marks.Blue light applied to the Yintang acupoint has a calming effect, promoting relaxation of the body and facial expressions. It is effective for alleviating pain, sadness, blood stasis, and promoting tranquility. Purple light: A dual-frequency light combining red and green wavelengths, it integrates the benefits of both. It is particularly effective in treating and eliminating acne.Purple light also removes or inhibits hair growth on various body parts.
Yellow light: With a wavelength of 590nm, it works synergistically with red light to significantly alleviate and treat allergic skin conditions. Yellow light fades spots and inhibits melanin production.
Green light: Wavelength 560nm, primarily regulates sebum secretion, improves sensitive skin, and tightens enlarged pores.
Cyan: Smoothes fine lines or reduces crow's feet wrinkles around the eyes and diminishes dark circles.
White Light: Eliminates telangiectasia, acne, and other secondary skin inflammations.
Editor's Note: Do you assume laser light is always red? In laser aesthetics, different colors serve distinct purposes. Before treatment, patients should undergo thorough skin assessment by a physician.
