In recent years, minimally invasive cosmetic procedures have gained popularity due to their safety, non-invasive nature, and short recovery periods—some can even be completed during a lunch break. Among the many options, laser treatments and injectables are particularly sought after by beauty enthusiasts. However, with so many procedures available, can they be combined without conflict?Below is our analysis:
1. Can injectable treatments follow laser procedures?
Generally, injections can be administered after applying cold compresses post-laser treatment. However, certain lasers may cause scabbing (e.g., fractional CO2 laser, plasma, pixel laser) or bleeding (e.g., Q-switched laser for specific pigmentation). Injections are not recommended after these treatments.
2. Can laser treatments be performed after injectable procedures?
This depends on the type of injection. For Botox injections, laser treatments are generally not recommended within 2 weeks post-injection.
For hyaluronic acid injections, most laser treatments (e.g., photorejuvenation, laser skin resurfacing) do not affect the filler. However, radiofrequency, focused ultrasound, fractional CO2 laser, and near-infrared non-ablative fractional lasers penetrate deeply. Avoid these technologies for 2 months post-injection, as they may accelerate hyaluronic acid metabolism and cause wastage.
3. Can Botox and hyaluronic acid be injected simultaneously?
Since hyaluronic acid injections typically require massage afterward, while Botox prohibits massage, even if administered concurrently, hyaluronic acid must be injected first followed by Botox.
4. Can photorejuvenation be performed alongside radiofrequency or ultrasound treatments?
Photorejuvenation targets surface concerns (like pigmentation), while ultrasound/radiofrequency works on deeper skin layers (tightening, lifting, and contouring). Though not inherently conflicting, simultaneous procedures are not recommended. Both generate heat, increasing risks. If completed within one day is necessary, apply a facial cold compress after photorejuvenation. Wait for recovery before proceeding with radiofrequency or ultrasound treatments.
