Although classified as minimally invasive cosmetic procedures compared to surgery, laser spot removal remains a challenging "long" process for those who've experienced it—from applying anesthetic to the doctor's final announcement. However, treatment completion doesn't mean all is well. Post-laser care requires attention to these essential skincare details.
1.Sun Protection
To prevent post-treatment hyperpigmentation, diligent sun protection is essential: Apply sunscreen with UVB protection (SPF > 30) and UVA protection (PA >). Wear a sun hat, cotton long-sleeved tops and pants, and use a sun umbrella (preferably UV-blocking).Avoid prolonged sun exposure between 10 AM and 4 PM daily when sunlight is strongest.
2. Cold Compresses or Masks
Immediately after laser treatment, apply a cold compress or a damp mask to the skin. Handle gently to avoid friction.
3. Medicated Application
Apply a thin layer of prescribed medication like gentamicin or erythromycin ointment to the treated area as directed. For extensive laser areas or severe inflammation, oral antibiotics may be prescribed.
3. Prescribed Medications
Post-treatment, apply a thin layer of gentamicin or erythromycin ointment to the treated area as directed by your physician. For extensive laser treatment areas with significant inflammation, take oral prednisone 10mg three times daily for three consecutive days to enhance anti-inflammatory effects. Alternatively, apply basic fibroblast growth factor (BFGF) spray to the treated area to promote healing.
4. Use medical-grade skincare products
Since laser treatment damages the skin's lipid barrier and stratum corneum to varying degrees, use medical-grade skincare products containing moisturizing ingredients for 3-6 months post-treatment to aid in repairing damaged skin.
