With mounting competitive pressures in modern society, many office workers find themselves in a state of suboptimal health. How can psychological stress be better alleviated? Below are 8 strategies to help office workers manage stress.
1. After dinner, opt for beverages free of alcohol, caffeine, and other stimulants.
2. Focus on light meals during dinner. Avoid spicy, fried foods, or high-protein, high-calorie items that linger in the stomach, as these can burden the digestive system.
3. Aim to sleep between 11 PM and 2 AM.If you must work through the night, try sleeping until after 2 a.m. before resuming work. This is because from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m., the body's meridians focus on the liver and gallbladder. Without adequate rest during this period, prolonged strain may manifest as skin issues like roughness, dark spots, acne, or dark circles.
4. Listen to classical or light music before bed to avoid excessive excitement that may lead to vivid nightmares. If you often struggle with insomnia, listening to Bach's Goldberg Variations before sleep is a great choice!
5. Change into loose-fitting, cotton-based loungewear. Women should also remove bras and opt for dark-colored nightwear.
6. Take a warm bath at a temperature of 37 to 39 degrees Celsius to effectively relax tense muscles and nerves.
7. Elevate your legs before bed or prop them up with a pillow at 30, 45, or 90 degrees. This effectively alleviates swelling caused by poor blood circulation in the lower limbs due to prolonged standing or sitting.
8. Opt for warm yellow lighting indoors. It's less stimulating to the eyes, helps relieve eye strain, and creates a calmer atmosphere.
