Generally, boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls on average. The fetus continues to gain weight, building fat reserves that will aid in regulating body temperature after birth. All major organs are now fully developed, with the lungs being the last to mature—it takes several hours after birth for the baby to establish a normal breathing pattern.
By week 39, the baby is full-term. Almost all expectant mothers may hesitate between choosing vaginal delivery or cesarean section. In fact, vaginal birth is a natural human instinct and the most reliable delivery method. Although some mothers experience difficult labor, 95% can successfully deliver vaginally. Unless there are special circumstances, it's best to avoid choosing a cesarean section.
