What is Allergic Rhinitis?
Although allergic rhinitis is not a severe disease, it can significantly impact patients' daily lives, studies, and work efficiency, imposing a heavy economic burden. It may trigger conditions such as bronchial asthma, sinusitis, nasal polyps, and otitis media, or co-occur with allergic conjunctivitis.
Home Remedies for Allergic Rhinitis
First, rinse the nasal passages with a mild saline solution. Mix 2 tablespoons of table salt into 100 milliliters of clean water until fully dissolved. Then soak a cotton ball in the saline solution and place it inside the nostril. Tilt your head back slightly and pinch both sides of the nostrils with your index finger and thumb. Slowly draw the saline solution into your nose, allowing it to flow from the nasal cavity into the throat. Repeat this morning and evening; allergic rhinitis symptoms will show significant improvement.
Garlic Paste Nasal Application.Wash garlic cloves, drain, and mash into a paste. Wrap the paste in dry gauze, squeeze out the juice, and drip approximately 2 drops into each nostril. Press both sides of the nostrils with your fingers to ensure even distribution of the garlic juice. Individuals sensitive to garlic should avoid this treatment for rhinitis.
Nasal Massage. Before massaging, rinse the nasal passages thoroughly with cold water. Slowly inhale to allow the cold water to fully cleanse the nasal mucosa, then exhale the water. Repeat for 1-3 minutes to complete the rinse. Use the pads of both middle fingers to gently massage each side of the nostrils, performing about 20 strokes. Consistent long-term use of this method can effectively treat allergic rhinitis.
