Abdominal liposuction is a relatively effective method for addressing fat accumulation in the waist and abdomen. It is suitable for individuals with relatively normal body weight but excessive fat in the waist and abdominal areas, provided there is no skin laxity in these regions.
Abdominal liposuction involves removing subcutaneous fat deposits from the deep and superficial layers of the abdomen—including the upper abdomen (also known as the epigastric region), lower abdomen (commonly called the lower belly), both sides of the waist, and sometimes the lower back—through surgical means to achieve weight reduction and body contouring.
Waist and abdominal liposuction offers rejuvenating effects manifested in the following aspects:
1. The aging of the human figure begins at the waist and abdomen. The shape of this area most clearly reflects a person's age. Waist and abdominal liposuction effectively preserves the aesthetic curve of the waist.>> Waist and abdominal liposuction completely eliminates "love handles"
2. Waist and abdominal liposuction reduces the effects of gravity, minimizing abdominal sagging.
Individuals with fat accumulation and abdominal sagging, or those experiencing postpartum abdominal laxity and stretch marks due to inadequate exercise and care, should not undergo this procedure, as it may worsen abdominal sagging.
Preoperative considerations for abdominal liposuction:
1. Clearly identify the target fat areas for removal prior to surgery.
2. Undergo necessary medical examinations.
3. Individuals over 50 should pay particular attention to conditions like hypertension, hyperglycemia, and hyperlipidemia.
4. Exclude bleeding or clotting disorders.
5. Discontinue anticoagulant medications 1-2 weeks before surgery.
6. Avoid scheduling during menstruation.
Multiple abdominal liposuction techniques exist: electronic liposuction, ultrasound-assisted liposuction, power-assisted liposuction, and syringe liposuction. The most commonly used method combines ultrasound with suction, overcoming the incomplete fat removal limitations of suction-only techniques.
