Daikon radish honey water can help alleviate coughs.
Both daikon radish and honey water have lung-moistening and cough-relieving properties. However, since coughs stem from various causes, this remedy primarily addresses heat-induced coughs. It is less effective for allergic coughs, persistent coughs, or spasmodic coughs.
However, when simmered with Chinese herbs like white pepper and ephedra, it promotes sweating to dispel cold, stops coughing, and dissolves phlegm, thus offering some benefit for wind-cold coughs.
