Nowadays, most families have only one child. The pressures of modern life also make parents very concerned about their child's intelligence, fearing their child might struggle academically and face a difficult life ahead. Magazines and books from various countries offer some examples of behaviors exhibited by highly intelligent babies during their early years for reference.
1. Early developmental milestones
Did your child smile at people or sit up independently earlier than peers? While most 9-month-olds are still crawling, did yours already stand using furniture or even wobble while trying to take steps with chubby legs?Did he begin babbling or putting objects in his mouth earlier than others? While some children who seem "slow to develop" in early childhood later become renowned scientists or linguists, it's undeniable that these early signs often indicate your child possesses exceptional talent and potential in certain areas.
2. Remarkable Memory and Observational Skills
While many peers seem oblivious, showing no signs of memory, have you been surprised to find your little one remembering people or things they've encountered?For instance, they might notice and react with surprise or delight to subtle changes like Mom wearing something different today or sporting a new hairstyle, or Dad's usually stubbly chin appearing smooth.
3. Rich Creativity and Imagination
You might wonder: Do one- or two-year-olds possess creativity and imagination? Yes. While most one-year-olds lack strong problem-solving skills, a child with exceptional talent often surprises parents with astonishing displays. ${FDPageBreak}
4.Sense of Humor and Little Entertainer
Dad putting on sunglasses to look cool today, or Mom hurriedly putting two mismatched socks on the baby in the morning—these moments make him laugh and dance with delight. This indicates the child has a good sense of humor, noticing slightly offbeat things around him and finding them amusing and funny.
5. Intense Curiosity and Exploration Drive
While all children possess strong curiosity, most babies have easily distracted attention spans. A simple interruption from an adult can make them instantly forget whatever they were previously determined to obtain. But a child with intense curiosity and an exploration drive is different. When they want to figure out how something works, they pour their whole being into it.For example, upon seeing Mom and Dad using the computer, they insist on playing too. Merely letting them dabble symbolically won't suffice—they must mimic their parents by clutching the keyboard and tapping away, persistently asking, "Is this how it's done? Is this it?" When Mom and Dad try to reclaim the computer, forget it—the little one isn't done yet!
6. Sensitive and Considerate
Exceptionally bright children are often highly sensitive. They can intuitively sense when Mom is upset or Dad is angry, and will try to comfort them. When climbing stairs as a family, if Mom is carrying the baby, the child might say to Dad midway, "Daddy carry baby, Mommy's tired."
