With economic progress, greater openness in attitudes, and the introduction of foreign cosmetic medicine, many women seek plastic surgery to achieve an ideal figure. But if you're too thin, is breast augmentation even possible? How can slender women fulfill their dreams of a more curvaceous silhouette?
1. Breast Augmentation is Possible for Very Slim Women
Women with very slim builds may experience excessive skin filling during breast augmentation. This overfilling can lead to post-operative hardening, often caused by implants that are too large. Relocating the implant pocket from beneath the breast tissue to beneath the pectoral muscle can reduce the recurrence of capsular contracture.
Some women prefer mild capsular contracture, as it can create a fuller, lifted breast appearance.
Excessive contracture and deformation require revision, including replacing implants with textured surfaces, changing the implant pocket location, using antibiotic saline irrigation during surgery, and extending oral antibiotic use postoperatively.
Older silicone implants have a tendency to form "silicone blood" and are prone to capsular contracture. Saline implants or newer silicone implants should be used instead. These newer silicone implants feature a thicker outer shell with enhanced cohesiveness. Antibiotic irrigation during breast augmentation surgery can reduce the incidence of capsular contracture. For first-time augmentation patients, textured implants are beneficial in preventing capsular contracture. 2. Autologous fat transfer is unsuitable for very thin women This is easily understood: autologous fat transfer relies on harvesting fat from other body areas to augment the breasts, thus requiring sufficient fat reserves elsewhere. However, if the body is excessively thin, further fat extraction can cause harm to the body. Therefore, women who are too thin should avoid choosing autologous fat transfer for breast augmentation.
Thus, it is evident that women with a petite frame can still undergo breast augmentation. However, women who are excessively thin require special breast augmentation materials for the procedure, so the choice of surgical materials must be made with caution.
