Efficacy of Alum:
Alum strongly coagulates proteins. Clinically, it serves as an anti-inflammatory, hemostatic, antiperspirant, antidiarrheal, and sclerosing agent. It exhibits broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, inhibiting various Gram-positive cocci and Gram-negative bacilli, certain anaerobic bacteria, dermatophytes, and Candida albicans to varying degrees. It demonstrates significant suppression against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus; it also exhibits pronounced anti-Trichomonas vaginalis activity in vitro.Alum instilled through the urethra has hemostatic effects; it also promotes ulcer healing and purifies turbid water.
Resolves phlegm, dries dampness, stops diarrhea, stops bleeding, detoxifies, and kills parasites.Treats epilepsy, sore throat, excessive phlegm accumulation, hepatitis, jaundice, edema, gastric and duodenal ulcers, uterine prolapse, leukorrhea, diarrhea, epistaxis, mouth and tongue sores, boils, hemorrhoids, scabies, and fungal infections. Also addresses injuries from water, fire, or insects.
