It's common to visit the dentist for tooth extraction when teeth are problematic. However, many patients don't feel pain during the procedure due to anesthesia. After the anesthesia wears off, significant tooth pain may occur.Cold foods constrict blood vessels, aiding in hemostasis, reducing swelling and pain, and minimizing impact on the surgical site. Options include chilled milk, ice-cold Hongling tea, or fruit juice.
2. From 4 hours post-op until the following day, consume semi-liquid or soft foods such as egg custard, soft steamed buns, rice porridge, well-cooked noodles, or pureed vegetable soup.Keep meals light and avoid greasy or spicy foods. Refrain from coarse foods like leeks, celery, or hard rice, as their rough particles may irritate the wound and hinder healing.
Ensure meals are warm, not hot, to prevent vasodilation and wound bleeding. Select tender vegetables and prepare them thoroughly cooked, soft, and finely chopped—such as purees, minces, or sauces. Maintain this dietary approach for one week post-surgery.
3. For the first 1-2 days post-surgery, nutritional intake need not be overly considered. Starting from the third day, focus on high-nutrient, high-protein foods such as milk, vegetable-meat congee, fried tofu, jam bread, tofu pudding, and tomato-egg stew.
5. Drink plenty of fruit juice to replenish vitamins C and B complex, promoting wound healing.
6. Decline social engagements, avoid excessive alcohol consumption, and ensure adequate rest and sleep.
7. Avoid extremely hot or hard foods, strong alcoholic beverages, smoking, and spicy foods.
