Abdominal liposuction, also known as abdominal fat suction, is a surgical procedure—sometimes called closed-loop weight loss surgery—that removes subcutaneous fat deposits from the deep and superficial layers of the abdomen (including the upper abdomen, also known as the epigastric region; the lower abdomen, also known as the lower belly; the bilateral waist area; and may also include the lower back). This method achieves weight loss and body contouring goals.
Contraindications for Abdominal Liposuction:
1.Individuals with poor overall health or impaired function of major organs such as the heart, liver, lungs, or kidneys.
2. Patients with morbid obesity secondary to other diseases, which falls outside the scope of liposuction treatment.
3. Individuals with coagulation disorders and women currently menstruating should not undergo abdominal liposuction.
4. Individuals over 50 years of age and adolescents whose physical development is not yet complete.
Procedure Precautions:
1. Areas relatively unsuitable for abdominal liposuction: the longitudinal region of the rectus sheath, sacral triangle, anterior thigh, medial upper arm, medial knee, palmar and dorsal forearm, anterior neck, and posterior calf. These areas contain significant vascular and neural structures requiring particular attention during surgery to prevent injury.
2. Absolutely prohibited areas for abdominal liposuction: The inguinal region (containing critical structures like the femoral artery, femoral vein, and femoral nerve), popliteal fossa (containing the popliteal artery, popliteal vein, its branches, and the tibial nerve), patellar region (where subcutaneous tissue is too thin for safe suction), gluteal fold region(where the sciatic nerve passes deep beneath).
Editor's Note: Close collaboration between doctor and patient is essential before and after abdominal liposuction. Thorough execution of surgical procedures and meticulous post-operative care are crucial for successful outcomes.
