Patients with abdominal pregnancy are typically older women with prior childbirth history. In the early stages, they exhibit symptoms of ectopic pregnancy, such as amenorrhea, vaginal bleeding, early pregnancy symptoms, and abdominal pain. Many patients experience a distinct episode of severe abdominal pain.
This pain stems from tubal pregnancy miscarriage or rupture. Gradually, the abdominal pain subsides, but the abdomen continues to enlarge. Throughout the pregnancy, patients may experience abdominal discomfort accompanied by nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. The nature of the abdominal pain varies: it may intensify during fetal movement and diminish when fetal activity ceases. Some patients may develop anemia due to significant internal bleeding during tubal pregnancy miscarriage or rupture.
During fetal movement, the pregnant woman often feels abdominal pain, which gradually intensifies as the fetus grows. Abdominal examination reveals an indistinct uterine contour, but the fetal position is abnormal—shoulder presentation or breech presentation—with the presenting part floating high. The fetal heartbeat is abnormally clear, and placental sounds are loud.
