The second "Mayinglong Anorectal Health Public Welfare Tour" has entered its fourth day of registration. Statistics reveal that over half of the applicants are young adults aged 20-30, a trend that has drawn the attention and concern of anorectal specialists.
Xiao He, a 22-year-old soon-to-be college graduate, developed a lump near his anus two years ago without apparent cause. It improved after anti-infective treatment at the university hospital. However, recent late nights studying for graduation projects and final exams caused the lump to rupture spontaneously, discharging pus with a foul odor. After registration and examination yesterday, he was diagnosed with a "low-level simple anal fistula." If left untreated, the condition could significantly increase the complexity of any future surgery.
Wang Caoyuan, Executive Director of the National Anorectal Branch, noted that today's youth face immense academic and work pressures, often unable to secure adequate sleep. Late-night snacks typically consist of greasy, spicy, or roasted foods, which substantially raise the incidence of anorectal diseases.Experts recommend that young people increase water intake, reduce consumption of irritating foods, incorporate high-fiber foods like corn and sweet potatoes into their diet, and maintain appropriate physical exercise.
