Abrupt weaning causes severe engorgement pain for mothers and increases risks of mastitis, milk clots, and acute breast inflammation.
3. Natural Weaning
Natural weaning represents the ideal approach to weaning, where family members refrain from any intervention, allowing the baby to decide when to wean on their own terms. This occurs in a natural, unforced manner.This approach benefits both mother and baby's physical health, fully respects individual preferences, and minimizes emotional trauma for both parties. 4. Guided Weaning Mothers can gently guide weaning through distraction techniques or negotiation.
