Slim Down Your Big Nose

When all facial features are delicate and refined, only the nose's bulky shape spoils the look? That "garlic nose" that ruins facial aesthetics is truly frustrating—even detestable! However, rhinoplasty to reduce the nasal tip can "slim down" a large nose, effectively solving the problem of an oversized tip!
How large a nasal tip requires reduction?
The typical nasal tip width ranges from 10mm to 20mm. Beyond this range, it is medically classified as a large nasal tip. From an aesthetic perspective, rhinoplasty for nasal tip reduction may be considered.
Preoperative Preparation
A series of routine physical examinations are typically conducted before nasal tip reduction surgery. Patients with certain systemic diseases are not eligible for this procedure, and those with damaged bodily organs are also advised against undergoing nasal tip reduction. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, ensuring no pain during surgery. It primarily involves making incisions inside the nasal cavity to remove excess fatty tissue from the nasal tip, thereby correcting its excessive size.
Postoperative Incision Care:
The incision for nasal tip reduction is typically located along the inner edge of one nostril. Avoid getting this area wet during facial cleansing to prevent infection. Postoperative swelling may occur in the nasal area. Local pressure bandaging or cold compresses with an ice pack may be applied, but pressure should be gentle to avoid damaging the surgical site.
Key care principles for nasal tip reduction incisions include minimizing sneezing, avoiding nose blowing, and breathing through the mouth. Post-surgery, the nostrils are often packed with cotton balls, gauze, or rubber tubes, which may be expelled during sneezing. Discarded packing material should not be reused or replaced independently; seek immediate medical attention for appropriate treatment.Forceful nose blowing causes severe pain and may induce bleeding. For 2–4 weeks post-surgery, gently rinse nasal discharge into the mouth and expel it through the mouth. To alleviate dry lips, apply moisturizing lip balm or frequently wipe the lips with damp gauze.>>>Goodbye, my "big" nose tip
Plastic Surgery Basics: About Nasal Wing Reduction
Postoperative Care Instructions:
1. Minimize physical activity to prevent contact with the surgical site.
2. Do not touch the incision site with your hands after rhinoplasty. Keep the incision dry.
3. Take antibiotics for 3-5 days to prevent infection.
4. Nasal sutures will be removed in 5-7 days. Local swelling will occur post-surgery but should gradually subside after four days. Avoid heavy lifting to prevent exacerbating swelling.
5. Avoid intense sun exposure and physical impact for two months post-surgery. In rare cases, implant rejection may occur (swelling persisting beyond three weeks with yellow discharge from the incision). Seek immediate medical attention to have the implant removed.
6. Follow dietary restrictions; avoid spicy or irritating foods.
7. Strictly refrain from smoking for two weeks post-surgery.
8. Abstain from sexual activity for two weeks post-surgery.
Nasal tip reduction is a highly safe procedure with minimal risk of serious complications. Potential issues include infection, implant rejection, or poor wound healing. If dissatisfied with the outcome, revision surgery or implant removal to restore the original shape is possible. Seek prompt follow-up if redness or pallor develops on the nose, particularly the tip.
