1. Avoid fried, greasy, spicy foods, alcohol, and caffeine. These stimulate increased scalp oil production and should be eliminated. 2. Eliminate excessively sweet foods. Hair is alkaline, while sweets are acidic. Consuming sweets disrupts the body's acid-alkaline balance, accelerating scalp oil production.
3. Never pour shampoo directly onto your head. Unlathered shampoo can irritate the scalp, causing or worsening dandruff. Always lather it in your hands first before applying to hair.
4. Wash hair with lukewarm water. Water that is too hot stimulates sebum production, increasing oiliness; water that is too cold constricts pores, trapping dirt in the hair. Use water around 20°C (68°F).
5. Avoid combing hair with fingernails. Gently massage the scalp with fingertips to boost blood circulation and reduce dandruff formation.
6. Rotate shampoos weekly. Shampoo's cleansing effect is temporary; after seven days, the scalp adapts and loses effectiveness. Buy two shampoos to alternate weekly.
7. Avoid chemical products. Hairsprays and similar chemical products damage hair texture, irritate skin, and exacerbate dandruff.
8. Brush hair 100 times morning and night. This promotes blood circulation, reduces hair loss, and minimizes dandruff.
9. Consume zinc-rich foods such as brown rice, oysters, lamb, beef, pork, red rice, chicken, pasta, milk, and eggs.
