In fact, makeup removers come in various textures: liquid, oil-water separation, cream, and oil-based. For removing sunscreen, oil-based products are most suitable. Since most sunscreens are oil-soluble, it's recommended to choose professional makeup removers that effectively remove oil and impurities for thorough cleansing. When selecting sunscreen removers, opt for products that thoroughly remove makeup, deeply brighten dullness, and allow the skin to breathe and rest.
Skincare
While makeup remover oils are gentle yet highly effective, they were previously blacklisted by some dermatologists. Some even claimed, "Using makeup remover oil makes skin prone to breakouts."The core issue lies in certain products containing synthetic esters that trigger acne and breakouts, particularly isopropyl myristate and isopropyl palmitate. These highly irritating compounds are primary culprits behind acne formation. Therefore, carefully examine ingredient lists before purchasing cleansing oils and avoid products containing these synthetic esters.
Another common issue arises when makeup remover oils aren't thoroughly rinsed off during cleansing. Long-term buildup on the skin can clog pores and trigger acne. Dermatologists emphasize that makeup remover oils require rinsing with warm water around 40°C (104°F) for effective removal. Using cold water around 20°C (68°F) leaves residual oil on the skin, potentially causing skin problems.
The Correct Way to Use Makeup Remover Oil
Step 1: Dispense the makeup remover oil into your palm. Ensure both your hands and face are completely dry, as moisture can reduce the oil's cleansing efficacy;
Step 2: After coating your hands with the oil, apply it evenly across your face. Gently massage using circular motions from the center outward;
Step 3: Focus on the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) where dirt and oil accumulate, massaging back and forth. Lightly press the cheeks 3-5 times;
Step 4: After thorough massage, use lukewarm water around 40°C. First wash your hands, then pat the warm water over your entire face. This fully emulsifies the oil, lifting impurities and makeup to the skin's surface. Rinse thoroughly with plenty of clean water.
