Women's Confessions: Yellow Discharge Is So Embarrassing! Some women, upon noticing abnormal discharge, feel too ashamed to see a doctor and instead try to self-medicate with over-the-counter drugs. Yellow discharge signals a health issue—problems require solutions, and illnesses demand treatment. However, medication should never be taken blindly. So, what medication should be used for yellow discharge?
【Yellow Discharge Caused by Inflammation】
When yellow discharge with odor, or milky/purulent discharge, occurs alongside abdominal pain due to chronic cervicitis or fungal vaginitis, treatments like Baofukang Suppositories or Gynecological Qianjin Tablets may be used.Baofukang Suppositories primarily contain Curcuma oil (with over 20 chemical components) and borneol, which promote qi circulation, break up blood stasis, regenerate tissue, and relieve pain. They are mainly used for vaginal discharge disorders caused by damp-heat and blood stasis, such as candidal vaginitis, mixed vaginitis, and cervical erosion.【Yellow Vaginal Discharge Caused by Amoeba】
When amoeba infection leads to yellow, bloody serous or mucous discharge, treatment prioritizes systemic therapy combined with local management. Common medications include:
1.Carbarsene: 0.25g twice daily for 10 days per course
2. Metronidazole: 200–400mg three times daily for 10–14 days per course
3. Rhus chinensis (Yadanzi) is effective for acute amoebiasis and may also be used for chronic cases and carriers.Oral administration: 10–15 seeds of Rhus chinensis, 3 times daily, for a 7-day course.
Local treatment: Prepare solutions of the above medications for vaginal irrigation, or formulate them into powders or suppositories for vaginal insertion. Administer once daily for a 7–10-day course.
【Yellow Vaginal Discharge Due to Fungal Infection】
Yellowish-white discharge, often thick and sticky though sometimes thin, typically appears milky white with a curd-like or clumpy texture resembling coagulated milk. This is usually caused by fungal infection. Potassium permanganate powder or Baofukang suppositories are commonly used for such cases.
