The occurrence and progression of breast cancer are linked to estrogen. In obese women, estrogen is not only secreted by the ovaries but also produced in significant quantities by adipose tissue. Higher estrogen levels increase the risk of breast cancer. Active weight management helps prevent breast cancer.Since most obese individuals may have hypertension, hyperglycemia, and endocrine hormone disorders, estrogen is a primary factor in triggering endometrial cancer. Obese menopausal women face an even higher risk of developing this type of cancer. Therefore, obese women who experience menstrual irregularities, delayed menopause, or abnormal vaginal bleeding after menopause should seek prompt medical examination.
3. Ovarian Insufficiency:
Perimenopausal women with lower abdominal, hip, or buttock obesity should be vigilant about whether this is caused by low gonadotropin levels. This type of obesity is associated with declining ovarian function. When women enter perimenopause, the ovaries cease ovulation, leading to functional menstrual disorders. This can result in heavy bleeding or prolonged bleeding. When subcutaneous fat converts to estrogen, it may also delay menopause onset. Collectively termed ovarian insufficiency, these symptoms warrant prompt medical evaluation.
4.Infertility:
Female infertility is often linked to menstrual irregularities. Subcutaneous fat in obese women can stimulate the endometrium, causing menstrual disorders. Additionally, obese patients with endocrine disorders or hypothyroidism are prone to infertility.
To prevent such infertility, experts recommend women maintain their weight within 10% of their standard body weight.
