Causes of Hearing Loss
Hearing loss is a condition that significantly impacts daily life and work. Numerous factors can contribute to hearing loss, including genetics, birth trauma, infections, improper medication use, immune disorders, physiological degeneration, and poisoning from certain chemicals. These causes can inflict severe physical and psychological harm on patients.
Medications: Ototoxic drugs are a major cause of deafness. Medical research indicates that common ototoxic medications include aminoglycoside antibiotics, certain antineoplastic drugs, diuretics, and anti-inflammatory analgesics.Prolonged exposure to high-decibel environments during work or daily life can gradually damage auditory cells.
Trauma: Everyday life exposes individuals to various external injuries. Car accidents, direct blows, or intense vibrations can all potentially damage internal ear tissues and organs.
Stress: The accumulation of excessive stress is a major cause of sudden deafness in many people today. Stress and fatigue can lower the body's immunity, disrupt endocrine function, and cause local vascular congestion, potentially leading to local hypoxia and ischemia that affect hearing.
