1.1. Method for sculpting refined facial features: Begin by focusing on the forehead and chin to create deep eye contours and dimensional facial structure.Apply the darkest foundation shade near the hairline to avoid it appearing too harsh. While contouring aims to visually slim the face, avoid excessively dark shades—overly dark concealer can create uneven skin tone and a dull complexion. Opt for cream or stick foundations/concealers for better control over application.
1.2. Nose-Lifting Technique: To make your nose appear more defined, apply highlighter along the bridge and darker shades on the sides of the nostrils for added dimension. Limit highlighter to the bridge, stopping at the level of the inner eye corners. Apply the darkest shade near the tip to visually narrow it. Fill the cheekbone area with highlighter as well.
1.3 Cheekbone Contouring: Create a dark triangular shadow along the lower cheekbone and face's side to flatten cheekbone height. Draw a small highlight arrow from the outer eye corner to the cheekbone's side.
2. Foundation Ingredients
2.1. Talc: Talc enables other foundation components to spread smoothly over the skin, creating a silky finish.
2.2. Kaolin and Titanium Dioxide: Enhance the foundation's coverage and neutralize the shimmer from talc.
2.3. Zinc Stearate and Zinc Myristate: Provide strong adhesion.
2.5 Pigments: Typically a blend of inorganic and organic pigments. Commonly, iron oxide (an inorganic pigment) is mixed with red or orange-yellow organic pigments to form the foundation's color.
2.6 Binders: Hold the above foundation components together to form a cohesive product. Primarily composed of mineral oils (such as animal/vegetable oils and liquid paraffin) or synthetic esters.
2.7. Other Ingredients: Preservatives, antioxidants, fragrances, etc.
2.8. Botanical Extracts: Such as seaweed extracts, yam extracts, vitamins, elastin, pearl powder, etc., which offer benefits like repairing and softening the skin, moisturizing and brightening, enhancing elasticity, and improving radiance.
3. Tips for Selecting High-Quality Foundation
3.1. Moisturizing levels vary among foundations. Opt for hydrating ingredients similar to the Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF) found in the stratum corneum.
3.3. Oil Control: Opt for powders that regulate oil without causing dryness.
3.4. Sun Protection: Choose formulas with at least SPF 15 and dual PA protection.
3.5. Spreadability: Ensure the foundation glides on smoothly and blends evenly.
3.6. Coverage: Select products that conceal pores and even out skin tone.
3.7. Adhesion: Ensures seamless blending with the skin without caking.
3.8. Powder Fineness: Ultra-fine particles deliver a velvety-smooth texture.
3.9. Transparency: Creates a natural, luminous complexion.
