Though she passed away decades ago, her sensual image continues to make her a goddess in the hearts of millions.While most fans pay homage by revisiting her iconic films and photos, Frenchman Cyril Lou takes a refreshingly unconventional approach: he's transforming himself into Monroe, having already spent over £8,500 (approximately ¥76,000 RMB) on the journey.
Now 32, Cyril works in the service industry in Toulon, France. Since starting Botox injections at 26, he became obsessed with cosmetic procedures. Over the past year and a half, he's undergone more than 20 surgeries and gets hyaluronic acid lip injections every two months. His total spending on cosmetic surgeries has exceeded £8,500 (approximately ¥76,000).
To further resemble his idol Marilyn Monroe, Cyril plans additional procedures on his nose, chin, and cheeks. However, his waiter's salary clearly cannot cover these costs. He is currently crowdfunding for the surgeries and intends to proceed immediately once he raises £2,000 (approximately ¥18,000).
While Cyril's extreme lip augmentation has left his mouth looking unnaturally swollen and bearing little resemblance to Monroe, drawing criticism from many, he remains unfazed. He insists he will continue his cosmetic journey: "I'm often mocked by trolls. Strangers constantly ridicule me, saying I look strange.But I'm proud of myself and will keep getting surgeries. I don't care about those who judge me. Beauty is incredibly important—not for others, but for myself."
