The body's waste typically exists as toxins. If not promptly addressed, these toxins can lead to various illnesses affecting the respiratory, digestive, and urinary systems. Bad breath is also a consequence of toxin accumulation, which often manifests as qi toxins, sweat toxins, or accumulated waste. Due to their differing natures, effective detoxification methods vary accordingly.
Specific Forms of Toxins
1. Gaseous Toxins
As the name suggests, gaseous toxins originate from external air. Poor air quality inevitably impacts daily breathing, leading to increased intake of harmful substances like bacteria, dust, and viruses.Of course, the human body also produces its own gaseous toxins, such as carbon dioxide and other waste gases generated during respiration. Since these toxins accumulate through breathing, cleansing the lungs can be achieved by taking deep breaths of fresh air in well-ventilated areas every morning and evening, followed by exhaling the stale air from the lungs.
2. Toxins from Sweat
Beyond urine, perspiration is another primary method of bodily excretion. Thus, the health of pores directly impacts toxin elimination. When sweat cannot be expelled normally, it accumulates internally and transforms into a toxic substance. This manifests as a persistent body odor even when clean.Over time, this can lead to joint pain, rheumatism, and metabolic disorders. Therefore, it is essential to ensure adequate daily sweating for proper detoxification. Swimming, running, and aerobics are all excellent exercise options.
3. Constipation
Regular bowel movements are crucial for maintaining health, as stool serves as a primary detoxification pathway—accounting for approximately 50% of the body's toxin elimination. The optimal time for daily bowel movements is between 5:00 and 7:00 AM. Delaying this window allows toxins to accumulate in the intestines. It is recommended to drink a glass of water on an empty stomach upon waking and cultivate a morning bowel habit.
How to Detoxify? Acupressure Detox Methods
1. Liver Detox: Stimulate the Tai Chong point (LR3) located in the depression before the junction of the first and second metatarsal bones on the top of the foot. Apply pressure with your thumb for 3-5 minutes until a mild soreness is felt.Avoid excessive force; alternate between both feet.

3. Spleen Detoxification: Stimulate the Shangqiu point, located in the depression below and anterior to the medial malleolus. Massage with your finger until a sensation of soreness and heaviness is felt. Each session should last about 3 minutes, alternating between feet.
4. Lung Detoxification: The Hegu point benefits lung health. Located on the back of the hand between the first and second metacarpal bones, it sits at the midpoint of the radial side of the second metacarpal. Pinch this area with thumb and index finger and press firmly.
5. Kidney Detoxification: Stimulate the Yongquan point for detoxification. Regular massage yields noticeable results. This point is located at the front one-third of the sole (excluding the toes).
