Targeting specific eye concerns with appropriate massage techniques yields far better results than blindly applying eye creams. Puffy, puffy eyes, tired-looking skin, pronounced dark circles, or fine lines around the eyes... these embarrassing issues can be addressed with just a few simple massage steps.
Reduce Puffiness for Bright, Alert Eyes
1. Using your ring and middle fingers, gently sweep outward from the inner corners of your eyebrows toward the temples. Repeat this massage three to five times.
2. Place the pads of your middle and ring fingers on both sides of your brow ridge. Massage upward toward the center of your forehead, then move toward the temples. Once at the temples, apply slight pressure. Repeat the entire sequence three to five times.
Boost Blood Circulation Around Eyes to Relieve Fatigue
1. Press the pads of your middle and ring fingers against the center of your eyebrows. Apply moderate pressure to lift upward toward your forehead, then glide toward your temples. Upon reaching the temples, gently press for a few seconds.
2. Using the pads of your ring fingers, massage outward from the center of your forehead.Upon reaching the temples, apply a single press using a circular motion.
3. Press the temples with your thumbs while the remaining four fingers support the head. Apply gentle upward pressure to lift and massage the scalp, repeating three to five times.
4. Exercise caution with pressure and frequency when massaging the delicate eye area to prevent skin laxity caused by excessive force or over-massaging.
Lift and firm the eye area to reduce wrinkles between the eyebrows and on the forehead.
1. Using the pads of your middle and ring fingers on both hands, gently massage from the base of the nasal bone along the bridge toward the nostrils. Then, using the same finger pads, perform small, gentle up-and-down strokes on either side of the nostrils.
2. Using the pads of your middle and ring fingers, trace the orbital bone in a circular motion following this sequence: brow ridge → outer eye corner → lower eyelid → inner eye corner → upper eyelid. Finish by massaging toward the temples, applying slight pressure for a few seconds. Repeat the entire sequence three to five times.
Reduce dark circles and dullness around the eyes
1.Place the muscle group at the base of your thumbs against the bone structure of the lower eye socket. (Perform with both hands simultaneously: both pinkies should be fully pressed together at this point.)
2. Use the base of your thumbs to sweep outward along the lower eye socket bone toward the outer corner of the eye. Repeat the entire process three to five times.
3. Apply slight upward pressure with the thumb base muscles against the cheekbones to lift the area.
4. Gently glide the pads of the remaining four fingers along the eye contour. Repeat the process three to five times.
