Office workers, especially white-collar women frequently interacting with computers, may be unaware that hunched over desks and bent over keyboards is detrimental to maintaining firm breasts.
Gynecologist Jiang Guiyin reminds us that, as many women know, standing tall with your chest out enhances the appearance of the breasts. Bras help maintain the curves of our bust, while headstands can help combat the effects of gravity and aging on breast sagging. However, this advanced breast care method isn't feasible for everyone. Instead, paying attention to daily habits can help combat breast sagging and loss of firmness.
Experts point out that women who frequently work at desks or use computers often adopt a hunched posture over their desks or computers, maintaining a stooped position for extended periods. This not only looks unflattering but, over time, can affect breast firmness and lead to sensations like swelling, pain, or stinging. For desk-bound workers, the situation may worsen as breasts are frequently compressed by the edge of the desk. Leaning sideways or resting on the desk places the breasts directly at the pressure point. Research suggests that compression by a hard desk edge for nearly an hour and a half can disrupt normal metabolic processes within the mammary glands, leading to adverse effects over time.
Experts therefore advise office workers who must work at desks or use computers to maintain an upright posture with the chest positioned 10 centimeters above the desk edge. This helps alleviate breast fatigue and preserves breast tissue vitality. During breaks, regularly move the upper limbs through activities like deep breathing, chest expansion exercises, arm swinging, and wrist rotations. These methods not only promote blood circulation but also effectively engage the breasts and surrounding skin in movement, preventing aging and deformation of breast tissue. Additionally, consider taking ten to fifteen minutes for breast massage in locations like restrooms.
Furthermore, office women should protect their breasts by intentionally exercising chest muscles during regular workouts. Activities like aerobics, running, and push-ups can enhance chest muscle tone. Evening massages before bed are also crucial: rotate fingers clockwise and counterclockwise around the breasts until the skin becomes slightly flushed and warm, then gently lift the nipples several times.Lastly, dietary adjustments are essential. Consume protein-rich foods like beans, eggs, and milk, with a particular focus on zinc supplementation.
Experts also remind women that during summer, when wearing low-cut clothing, extra attention should be paid to sun protection for the breasts to prevent UV rays from accelerating skin aging.
