Many girls nowadays opt for light makeup when going out. However, strictly speaking, simply filling in eyebrows, applying mascara, and swiping on lip gloss doesn't constitute a truly complete light makeup look. Achieving a flawless light makeup look requires some effort.
The steps for light makeup are as follows:
1. Cleanse the skin
Thoroughly cleanse your skin before applying makeup. Don't just rinse with water, as overnight oil buildup requires warm water and cleanser to remove completely.
2. Basic skincare
After cleansing, follow your regular skincare routine.Typically: cleanser → toner → moisturizer. For better makeup application, add a serum before toner or a primer after moisturizer.
4. Primer
Next, apply primer as a base. Dot the primer evenly on your chin, cheeks, forehead, nose tip, and around the mouth. Gently pat it in with your fingers—avoid rubbing to ensure even coverage. For a brighter complexion, repeat this step one or two times.
5. Foundation
After applying primer, proceed with BB cream or foundation. Choose based on your skin type and preference. Foundation offers better coverage but may be slightly harsher on skin. BB cream provides moderate coverage but typically includes SPF and skincare benefits.
6. Blush
For a rosy complexion, you can add a blush step, though it's optional. When applying blush, use a brush to pick up a small amount. Swipe it lightly on the back of your hand first to avoid over-application and ensure even distribution on the brush. Then, gently sweep from the cheekbones toward the ears.
7. Setting Powder
The final step for your face makeup is setting powder. Using a puff or sponge, lightly dab loose powder or setting powder onto your face in multiple light layers, repeating several times.
8. Lip Makeup
The final touch for a natural look is the lips. Since we're aiming for a subtle effect, use only lip gloss or tinted lip balm—not lipstick. Before applying lip gloss or tinted balm, always use lip balm as a base. This ensures your lips look hydrated and natural.
