Experts at the conference highlighted the escalating chaos in the cosmetic surgery industry. One case shared involved a female entrepreneur who received multiple hyaluronic acid injections at a beauty clinic operating out of a hotel. After her disfigurement led her to report the incident to police, it was discovered that the "Korean expert" administering the injections was actually a resident of Jiulongpo District, Chongqing.
It is understood that last year, the businesswoman sought help at a Chongqing hospital when her face had become severely swollen, ulcerated, and disfigured. She stated that she had been introduced by a friend to a "renowned Korean expert" for hyaluronic acid injections. Due to privacy concerns, she had received multiple injections at a hotel over a year, spending over 400,000 yuan. She never imagined that instead of becoming more beautiful, she would be left unrecognizable.
Suspecting foul play, the woman reported the incident to police. Investigations revealed the so-called Korean expert was actually a native Chinese citizen from Jiulongpo District, Chongqing.
The facial swelling and ulceration likely stemmed from either substandard "hyaluronic acid" injections or the fake Korean expert's lack of basic medical knowledge, resulting in injection errors.
Experts note a growing number of patients seeking corrective procedures for botched cosmetic surgeries in recent years. Some beauty-seekers, seemingly brainwashed, persist in undergoing additional surgeries at the same clinic after initial failures. Others turn to unlicensed clinics recommended by acquaintances or social circles, where patients hesitate to publicize failures out of concern for friends' reputations. Deceptive advertising luring patients with low prices further fuels chaos in the minimally invasive cosmetic industry.
