Foundation Application Made Easy: Foundation Brushes Ensure Even Coverage
Foundation brushes, specifically designed for applying liquid or cream foundations, are likely familiar to many. Their brush heads are typically flat, elongated, and elastic. Using a foundation brush allows the foundation to blend evenly into the skin, while the elastic bristles apply gentle pressure, ensuring a smoother, more natural finish.
The advantage of using a foundation brush is that it distributes foundation more evenly across the face, covering even delicate areas like the sides of the nose or the corners of the eyes. However, the downside is that the finish may not be as sheer.
Application: First, place foundation on the back of your hand. Then, dip the foundation brush into the foundation and sweep it across your face.
Finger Application for Smooth Coverage
The most common foundation application tool is our fingers.
Using the index, middle, and ring fingers provides moderate pressure. Apply foundation from bottom to top, blending against the grain of pores for more precise coverage. The advantage of finger application is that foundation melts into the skin with body heat, creating a more natural finish.Apply with even pressure, then lightly pat your face after blending to ensure the foundation adheres perfectly.
Application: Dot foundation onto your forehead, nose tip, both cheeks, and chin using your fingers, then blend evenly with your fingertips.
Circular Application to Conceal Pores
For areas with larger pores, such as the sides of the nose and the nose tip, standard foundation application methods may not fully conceal them.Instead, apply foundation liquid with your fingers or a sponge. However, be mindful that circular motions may create uneven streaks.
Application: Use fingertips to apply foundation in circular motions over areas with larger pores. Avoid repeated circular motions to prevent streaking.
