Spring, the season of rebirth, has arrived. The four seasons begin with spring, when all things awaken and grow, marking the start of the year's cycles. Jingzhe—the third solar term of the twenty-four, marked by the first spring thunderclaps that awaken animals hibernating in the soil.The character "zhe" (蛰) contains the radical for "insect" (虫), signifying that most awakened creatures are insects. Except for cold-blooded animals, most other creatures do not hibernate.
This solar term marks the awakening of insects, whose life cycles typically progress through four stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. The adult stage represents the most beautiful period of their lives. It is during this phase that beautiful butterflies flutter gracefully, chasing flowers and playing in water.Spring has arrived, grass sprouts, flowers bloom. Spring has arrived, willows turn green.Spring has arrived, peach blossoms bloom, azaleas bloom. Many come to admire the flowers. "Who could have cut these delicate leaves? The February breeze is like scissors."
